About Us

We are an Episcopal community open to all and supportive of one another. We invite you to visit with us in order to explore and experience the warmth of our church and congregation. Our parish serves the Oxford Hills area of western Maine. The members of our church family live in the eight towns of the Oxford Hills and the surrounding communities; some are seasonal visitors. We house the local food pantry and provide meeting space for a variety of community organizations. The parish was founded in 1897 and has been offering a ministry of worship, education, outreach, and pastoral care since that time. The church was designed by Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue, who designed several buildings of note, including West Point Military Academy Chapel, St. Bartholomew’s Church, NYC, and the Rockefeller Chapel at the University of Chicago. After many decades of ministry as a mission of the Episcopal Diocese of Maine, Christ Church became a parish in 1974.
